2. What the App does
SmokeDown helps you quit smoking gradually using a harm reduction approach. You track each cigarette against a dynamically shrinking daily limit, use breathing exercises to manage cravings, and monitor your health recovery and money saved over time.
3. What information we collect
Account data
- Email address — for account creation and authentication (via email/password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In)
Smoking data
- Smoking profile — cigarettes per day baseline, pack price, cigarettes per pack, chosen reduction intensity
- Daily logs — cigarettes smoked, timestamps, and trigger tags (Stress, Coffee, Social, Boredom)
- Progress data — streaks, XP, level, and breathing exercise completions
Usage data
- App interactions — crash reports and error logs collected via Sentry for stability improvements
We do not collect payment or credit card information. All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store.
4. How we use your information
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
- Sync your smoking data across your devices
- Calculate your daily limits, savings, and health recovery
- Send daily reminder notifications (if enabled)
- Diagnose and fix technical issues via crash reports
- Manage your subscription status
5. Data storage & security
Your data is stored in Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud), encrypted at rest. Each user's data is scoped to their account — you can only access your own data. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
6. Third-party services

7. Subscription & purchases
SmokeDown offers subscription plans (weekly or yearly) with a 3-day free trial, processed through Apple's App Store. Subscription and payment information is handled entirely by Apple and RevenueCat. We do not collect, process, or store any payment details.
8. Data retention & deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the App settings, which will permanently remove all associated data from our servers. You may also contact us at m.budziat@gmx.de to request data deletion.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent (where applicable)

10. Children
The App is rated 12+ and is not intended for children under the age required by local law to consent to data processing. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
